VARC Event: Shorebird Workshop 2026

Shorebird Workshop

4 Week Course Held on Zoom

Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 13, 15, 20, 22

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST

Shorebirds are a fascinating group of birds that are adapted to life on the shorelines of oceans, lakes, rivers, and wetlands. They are known for their remarkable migration journeys, stunning plumage, and unique behaviours. Their ability to endure long migrations and thrive in diverse environments makes them a remarkable group of birds to observe and appreciate.

But, they are also a challenging group of birds and can be tricky to identify because they basically all look alike, they come in large groups and are often a good distance away.

This new 4-week VARC workshop will teach you the techniques to help you to learn, identify and appreciate the amazing diversity of shorebirds of Vancouver and the Pacific northwest!

**Sessions will be recorded and sent out to participants
