Save Ukrainian Orphanage
Help children that have neither a home, family or country! Give them a chance for a new, better life!
On the 9th March 2022,109 Ukrainian children, from an orphanage in Guliaypol, near Zaporoże, together with their guardians, found a safe haven at the ‘Leisure and Conference Center SZAFIR’ in Moryń, Poland. Having escaped a war zone and the destruction of their home, these orphans and their guardians travelled almost 1100 km to the Polish border. No stopping. No respite. Pushing on despite the constant fear and danger.
The children arrived with only small backpacks, exhausted and weak from the journey. Some of them required special medical treatment. We gave them shelter. We provided them with food, accommodation, medical attention and the knowledge that they were safe here. For the next two weeks we plan an integration program. In the third week, we hope to start school classes.
The pupils are taken care of by an association called ‘TWR Collegium’ from Szczecin. With the support of other NGOs, we are doing our best to give the children a sense of safety and security.
The local community, volunteers and donors have ensured the children have clothes, toiletries, food, toys, stationery to write & draw with, internet access. But there are still many challenges ahead of us…
There are currently thousands of people in need in Poland, we need to make sure we provide for those children. They need a warm meal, safe shelter and thoughtful care. Among them there are children with special needs, who require a higher level of care.
We cannot do this alone! We need your help! We ask especially for financial support, which will ensure that every child receives the medical care and educational resources to start healing and rebuilding. Your generosity will also ensure they receive hot meals, a heated home, continued internet access which is essential for their schooling, electricity, water and transport. All your donations will be dedicated to the orphans staying at our facility.
We remain hopeful that the situation in the Ukraine will improve and that, one day, the children might be able to return home. But until that time comes, your donations will ensure they are safe, healthy and cared for.
We thank you for your generosity.
