SAVE SELMA 2023

On Thursday afternoon, January 12, 2023, a massive tornado (estimated to be an EF-2) ripped through Selma, AL with winds reportedly topping 100 mph. Selma is already listed as one of the poorest cities in Alabama but it is also home to some of the state’s richest history. Although there were reportedly no deaths, the storm left in its wake devastating damage, broken buildings, and shattered lives. Recovery will take time and financial support. 

Your financial donation to the Save Selma 2023 Fund is for Selma residents and businesses to provide cash support for shelter, food, and structural repairs. It will also provide larger support for more long-term recovery in the many unforeseen forms that takes. Foot Soldiers Park is partnering with the City of Selma through Mayor Perkins’ office and other area organizations to ensure funds get to the residents with the greatest needs.
