Goal

Sarcoma sucks. It’s taken far too much from our family. Sarcoma takes mobility, it takes freedom and independence, it takes dignity, and worst of all it takes our loved ones.

I’m writing this as we cope with the loss of Jeff Grose, a beloved father, husband, uncle, and friend, who lost his battle with a rare version of sarcoma called leiomyosarcoma.

Jeff is our third family member to succumb to sarcoma, preceded by his mother, Faye Grose, after a difficult battle. During her time with us, Faye also battled fibrous histiocytoma.

And two years ago we lost Jenny Harman at just 40-years-old to epithelioid sarcoma. Jenny was a wife of 18 years, a mother of a 15 year-old and a 10-year-old, a daughter, a sister, and a light to all that knew her.

It just…..sucks. There’s no other way to put it. And we’ve had enough. It’s time to fight back.

We created the inaugural Sarcoma Sucks 5K event in March 2025, raising more than $11,000 to support families impacted by sarcoma. Now we are ready to join Move For Jenn’s mission to support critical sarcoma trials aimed at finding a cure.

Our family, and the families of the 17,000 people who are diagnosed with sarcoma every year, need support and help fighting our way to a cure. We hope that you will join us. Sarcoma Sucks - but we can do something about it together.

Donations are fully tax-deductible and will directly support a sarcoma-specific research program at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC, which is being funded by the Move For Jenn Foundation.
