When I grow up, I want to be...a mechanic.

In 2021, we were blessed in a very special way—Sandro became part of our Emmanuel family. His life’s journey has not been easy. Abandoned by his parents at a young age, Sandro was lovingly cared for by his grandmother, who became his whole world. When she passed away, his life changed drastically. With no one else to care for him, Sandro went to live with an aunt who, despite her best intentions, struggled to give him the stability and support he needed. Seeing his situation and wanting the best for him, she reached out to us. We opened our hearts and our home, praying that here he would find the safety, love, and belonging every child deserves.

Since coming to Emmanuel, Sandro has settled in beautifully. He has built a strong friendship with Idjolson, Herode, and Wilbensley—four boys who can often be found playing in the dirt, laughing together, or tending to our goats. Sandro has a natural love for the outdoors and eagerly joins in gardening tasks, never afraid to get his hands dirty. Whether planting, watering, or pulling weeds, he brings a cheerful energy that makes even chores more enjoyable.

Though he tends to be quiet at first, once Sandro feels safe, his true personality begins to shine. He is often one of the first to volunteer to help—especially if there’s candy involved! He has a gentle and caring nature, especially with the younger children and babies, and it’s clear he has a tender heart for such a young boy. He is sensitive, in need of much reassurance and affection, and we are thankful we can offer him both.

As we walk this journey with Sandro, our prayer is that God’s light will guide him, strengthen his heart, and help him grow in faith and confidence. We are grateful every day for the chance to love him, nurture him, and watch him flourish in a place where he knows he belongs.
