Goal
SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' LAWSUIT
San Francisco public employees in all city and county departments put themselves in harm’s way to provide public services to us during the COVID-19 pandemic. One year and nine months into the pandemic, the city unlawfully denied over one thousand religious and medical exemption requests. It then proceeded to terminate all unvaccinated employees who served us so selflessly during the pandemic from February 2020 to October 2021.
In comparison, some neighboring cities and counties did not even require vaccines; and those that did implement a vaccine policy accommodated their public employees with religious or medical exemptions.
We are faced with serious consequences because the City and County of San Francisco is dangerously understaffed. Essential public services such as emergency medical response, law enforcement response, public transit, etc., are regularly delayed, causing numerous problems for everyone—mainly the most vulnerable among us: children, seniors, disabled persons, and women.
Unless reinstated by a court, these longtime public employees will lose their lifelong careers due to San Francisco's inhumane anti-labor policies. We must get our frontline heroes reinstated soon to establish sanity, justice, and human rights in San Francisco.
We are working with some of the best lawyers in California. As our lawsuit is based on the Constitution, it covers all San Francisco public employees—even those who did not make an exemption request. If successful, our lawsuit will create unique case law for all of California in this uncharted legal territory.
We need your help today. It's time we stood up for our frontline heroes in San Francisco and established legal precedents for the entire state. We thank you for your generous support!
