Hello lovely people, 

On the 15th August i'll be doing a Triathlon sprint (750m swim, 18km cycle and 6km run) to raise money for SV, a charity I've been a part of for the past 9 years. 

Samos Volunteers is a grassroots NGO supporting refugees and asylum seekers on the Greek island of Samos. A team of volunteers from all over the world provides psycho-social support and informal education in our community centres.

I was based on Samos with SV from 2017-2022 and since 2020 have been one of the trustees so have seen first hand how vital the work with do is. Any help you can give us to help us keep going is much appreciated.  

Today, we run a community centre in Zervou, near the Closed Controlled Access Centre, Alpha Land, and an office and information point in the city of Vathy, Alpha City. 

Alpha City is our office in town, where service users can spend some time in while waiting for their appointments in Vathy, and where we offer some basic services such as printing, a library, and games available to use. 

At Alpha Land, only a five minute walk from the camp, we offer informal education, such as language classes, as well as workshops. We run sports activities, art and music workshops, and a gardening project.

We also support the LGBTQI+ community and offer a women's space.
