Goal

Sacha Wasi Dental Care Program:

Our goal is to provide a broad range of dental services including regular preventive dental care to Sacha Wasi and the nearby indigenous communities.
Preventive dental care is essential for good oral health so we can find problems earlier when they are easier to treat, but many don’t get the care they need.
In fact, our dental team recently discovered during the community-wide dental checkup, that many of the indigenous people here don’t even have a toothbrush or toothpaste and very few have ever gone to the dentist for a cleaning.
Education is a top priority for the community so they can learn about proper oral hygiene and the importance of regular dental care/maintenance.

Your donations will help purchase much needed toothbrushes, toothpaste, and help cover the costs of cleanings, X-rays and emergency dental procedures.   Average  cost of a dental visit is about $30 - that includes the extra charge for pain medicine.  Normally dental procedures like tooth extractions on indigenous people are performed without any pain medicine.  This is barbaric and a major factor in why indigenous people avoid going to the dentist.  It is just too painful and traumatic.

We are building brighter futures one smile at a time!
