Ryan and Katy

As many of you know, I (Katy) lived in South Africa for a year in 2009.  I fell in love with the country and the people, so in 2015, we went back as a family to visit friends who had started Ignite South Africa. This trip introduced Ryan to South Africa and started his journey.  Looking for next steps and continuing to explore our vision as a couple, we led a mission team in 2018 and started talking about coming on staff with Ignite. 

Right when we felt like we had some vision, borders closed in 2020 and we felt a bit confused!  We kept pressing into what the Lord had for us and, after borders re-opened, we were able to meet with some of Ignite's leadership in the summer of 2022. This launched us into our next step of taking a vision and confirmation trip in November 2022. On this trip, we were able to meet with the rest of the leadership team, teach about communication in marriage, and explore housing and school options. This trip confirmed our next step of saying "yes" to moving our family to South Africa to join Ignite's staff as Hope Managers and Outreach Directors! 

Currently, we are raising funds for start-up costs (passport and visa fees, a vehicle, setting up our home, airfare, etc.) and would love your partnership in this!  More information will be coming for ways to partner with us monthly.
