RUNNER

RUNNER is an empowering coming of age short film about a 13 year-old girl, who lives and breathes track running but has to overcome discouragement and discrimination to cross the finish line. Bree has just moved to a new school. Her talent for running is quickly recognised by her PE coach Mrs. Turner, who encourages Bree to compete in an U15’s race that could determine her future not just as an individual but also as an athlete. 

RUNNER wants to denounce the stigma that young girls face when transitioning into sports, aiming to inspire and empower young audiences. This film is your chance to support two female filmmakers tell a relatable story and show girls that you deserve to be whatever you want to be. That’s why this story matters, to remind us to keep fighting for a fair chance – because equality should not be a running matter, it should BE the finish line – and we need YOU to help Bree cross it.
