Fruits of Labor Food Bank for Farm Workers Program
This food security program was created to fill the gap on food insecurity amongst farm worker families in California.
We believe access to healthy foods is a human right. We believe those that feed the nation should have access to nutritional foods for their children.
Did you know that some farmworkers are the lowest paid labor force in the US? The average income for farmworkers is $17,000 - $20,000, which fall BELOW poverty line of $24,300. Many of these families depended on school lunches to be able to provide for their children’s lunches. But now that school is online and school lunches are unavailable many farmworker families are at risk of hunger more than ever before.
Together we can fill the gap on hunger, but it takes everyone doing their part. We currently serve Salinas, Greenfield, Soledad, King City, Gonzales, San Martin and Oxnard. We aim to expand to Fresno County and San Joaquin County but we can't do it without your support.
