Goal

Rubber Ducky World is currently an online museum at www.rubberduckyworld.com as well as a traveling museum that is requested and placed in public locations such as the library (free of charge). I would like to expand the museum to a permanent location therefore that is why I'm requesting donations to purchase shipping containers. Shipping containers have been chosen to help educate about the historical event when shipping containers fell off a barge in the middle of the ocean. In 1992, a remarkable event occurred involving 28,800 Friendly Floatees—plastic bath toys, including yellow ducks, red beavers, blue turtles, and green frogs. These little toys embarked on an unexpected oceanic adventure that provided valuable insights into ocean currents and the impact of ocean trash. The museum will display the history of rubber ducks and hundreds of rubber ducks from several manufactures. Rubber ducks have a fascinating history and are beloved by people around the world especially in Germany, Netherlands, and the UK where there are several rubber duck retail stores therefore, I would like to bring more of this love to the United States. There are a few retail stores in the US, but this museum will be the first and only full rubber duck museum in the United States. Rubber ducks have gained great popularity due to Ducking Jeeps and Cruising Ducks therefore I feel my collection and collaboration with duck manufacturers would make a great museum.
