Riverfront Trail Maintenance & Repairs
The Riverfront Trail at The Dalles winds along the southern bank of the Columbia River for ten miles between The Discovery Center to the northwest and The Dalles Dam Visitor Center at the eastern terminus. The asphalt-paved trail is 8- to 12-feet wide, making it perfect for bicyclists, walkers with dogs or strollers, joggers, and many others. The majority of the Riverfront Trail is ADA accessible.
Amenities along the Riverfront Trail include restrooms (the Pocket Park and The Dalles Dam Visitor Center), easy access to downtown The Dalles, numerous benches, and distribution points for small baggies to be used by dog walkers (thank you for collecting your pet's product distribution).
The Riverfront Trail is accessible approximately every mile of the six miles between The Discovery Center and Riverfront Park. There are no access points between the Riverfront Park and the Lone Pine residential development, as the trail parallels the busy I-84 corridor.
If you love the Riverfront Trail as much as we do please make a one time or recurring monthly donation to help with ongoing maintenance, and repairs of the trail. Right now the Trail is maintained by a small amount of Parks Staff as well as loyal volunteers and contracting in extra help when and if the budget allows.
We appreciate any donations given, and they will greatly help with continuing to make our Riverfront Trail a wonderful place for people to use for years to come. Thank you!
