The Right Age for STEAM
Equity in science, tech, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education begins in elementary school
Evidence suggests that children need to experience STEAM before middle school to increase their chances of majoring in a STEAM discipline and young children's curiosity make them an ideal age group to explore STEAM topics. That's why Marie's Kids is partnering with North Charleston Elementary to provide STEAM education to a cohort of 3rd grade students from low-income families. Our goal is to help develop a strong pipeline of diverse engineers in the low country by exposing these students to STEAM through interactive courses and field trips.
We invite you to join us in our efforts by making a tax deductible donation to our Right Age for STEAM campaign. The funds from this campaign will be allocated for curriculum development - including materials for first two STEAM courses - Flight and Genes.
