Concrete Jungle Foundation est une association qui permet de donner accès aux enfants dans des pays défavorisés à la pratique du skate. J'ai rencontré Lisa, il y a quelques années lors d'une interview sur le skate et l'amour. Depuis, nous sommes restées en contact, Lisa m'a beaucoup aidé pour créer mon premier fanzine First Love sur l'amour et le skate et c'est avec plaisir que j'espère l'aider dans la récolte de dons pour son projet aujourd'hui. Quelque soi le montant de votre don, c'est un soutient très important alors merci beaucoup. Au delà de permettre l'accès au skate à des enfants, c'est aussi les amener à travailler leur créativité au sein d'activités, partager des moments tous ensembles, créer des souvenirs, leur faire découvrir l'esprit de communauté, d'entraide et de partage. Le skate, je pense, c'est avant tout une forme de liberté et son expression, sans frontière. Mais aussi de l'observation : comment appréhender son environnement différemment, et dans la vie je crois que c'est important de choisir la manière dont on veut voir et vivre les choses. Et c'est aussi ça que j'ai envie de partager aujourd'hui, cette sensation de liberté.

What Did Skateboarding Do for You?

Everything starts with a skateboard and a helmet. Our programmes offer free skate lessons to kids and youth in various locations worldwide, but that is just where the ride begins. 

CJF focuses on teaching soft skills and helping others master their hard skills. Participants and apprentices join our programmes to learn and explore new things and opportunities.

And it's during this process that the magic happens. Through skating and education, we are able to stimulate positive change and help communities thrive.

We’ve already secured 57.14% of our programmes’ cost for next year, but we need YOUR help to ensure the final piece of the puzzle: €21,000 that will go 100% towards empowering our educational programmes. 

What Did Skateboarding Do for You Your Community?

Our focus is sustainable positive change in five different areas: 

Community Development and Social Cohesion: 3 programmes in 3 different countries running locally,  2 of them locally registered between 2022-23 and 1 entirely locally financed.

Good Health and Wellbeing: in 2022, 1128 kids and youth were engaged in weekly life-skill-focused sports programme.

Decent Work and Economic Growth: 15 apprentices from 3 different countries. CJF's apprentices have participated in 6 skatepark constructions in 5 countries worldwide. In 2022, up to 14 staff members were hired to run CJF’s onsite programmes.

Quality Education: 2 Homework Programmes. In 2022, 210 children and young adolescents participated in CJF educational sessions.

Gender Equality: 84 Girls Skate Sessions provided in 3 different locations across 2 countries. Reaching 124 girls and women in the past 2 years.

Together, we can amplify the positive impact skateboarding has on individuals, families, and communities worldwide.

Why are we raising 21,000€?

Our team has already secured 57.14% of the total funds needed to cover the costs of our operations for an entire year. However, we need help to obtain the missing part, 21,000 EUR, that will go 100% to our educational programmes. This amount covers the full spectrum of our initiatives, including:

• Edu-Skate: Our skateboarding-based life-skills programme.
• Homework & English: Tutoring programmes to enhance academic skills.
• Girls Skate Sessions: Outreach skateboarding classes empowering women and girls.
• Skate Lessons for Youth with Disabilities: Tailored skateboarding-based life-skills programme for those with reduced mobility or learning difficulties.
• Enrichment Activities: Diverse professional development workshops.
• Planting Seeds Apprenticeship and Continuity of Learning Programme: A hard-skills-based training programme focused on skatepark design and construction.

This 21,000 EUR will cover essential expenses, including materials, transport, maintenance, teacher salaries, and continuous monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for all our programmes.
