Rescue Women Foundation Fundraiser

The Rescue Women Foundation, a local Ugandan Non-Governmental Organization, is premised on the notion that empowering women and girls can lift them and the society around them out of poverty thereby contributing to development several-fold. We know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2018, we have been determined to make an impact with the girls and women on our community.  

The center supports teenage mothers through a ‘Triple R’ approach. First, the program ‘Rescues’ underage girls who have been sexually abused and become pregnant. We provide a safe place to stay, food, and medical care. Second, we ‘Rehabilitate’ the young mothers through various activities including prayer and counselling, prenatal care, postnatal care, health talks, and other health activities. Lastly, we ‘Restore’ the young mothers by equipping them with skills that will allow them to be resilient and to survive a harsh and hostile world. Such skills include entrepreneurship (e.g., tailoring, shoe making, and hairdressing, among others). Many of them stay permanently at our Foundation House. After birth of their children, the less vulnerable young mothers are reintegrated into their communities and fees are paid for them to return to school.

With the increase in young mothers coming to our doors, we desperately need to expand our dormitory (second building) and maintain support for additional food, training, counseling, medical care, and schooling for new mothers and babies. Right now, we have 37 babies, 37 pregnant mothers, 27 nursing mothers, and 35 girls in school. 

Please help us ensure no young mother ever has to be turned away.

• $25 - covers baby shower for one young mother 
• $50 - covers food for resident mothers for one day 
• $75 - covers cost of diapers and formula for babies for a week 
• $100 - covers cost of materials and skills training for basket, purse, and jewelry making 
• $150 - covers school tuition fees for one young mother for one term ($440 per year)
• $300 - covers medical supplies for the foundation sickbay
• $350 - covers c-section for one young pregnant mother 
• $1000 - covers the cost of windows for the dormitory
• $1200 - covers the additional beds and mattresses needed for the girls
