Regular Giving to the Nottingham Buddhist Centre

Nearly 30 years ago, Sangharakshita cut the ribbon on the Nottingham Buddhist Centre. What began with one Order member and a few newcomers has grown into a vibrant sangha—with 58 active mitras, 26 training for ordination, and many more walking the path together.

Now, we’re entering a new chapter.

While we continue to welcome newcomers, it’s now imperative we put more emphasis on helping our existing sangha members to deepen their practice. This takes time, presence, and heartfelt commitment—given gladly by our Order members and our small Centre team.

Our core team—Kusaladevi, Jnanaruchi, Upekshanandi and Eve—are financially supported, but only just. Each receives the equivalent of 3-4 days a week on minimum wage. Most rely on second jobs or support from partners and friends. It’s simply not sustainable.

To fully support our team and nurture the conditions for deep practice, we need to raise an additional £2,000 in regular monthly donations.
