Goal
When women in the Moria refugee camp first heard about COVID-19, they knew they couldn't wait for Greece or the EU to act. They quickly began production of reusable masks at Team Humanity's Hope & Peace Community Center with exceptional results. They were able to provide masks for everyone in Moria camp, and continued to make as many masks as possible to provide to other refugee camps across Europe- but they didn’t stop there. Most recently when the women heard about the protests against racial injustice in the United States, 10,000 masks were shipped to the United States to support the campaign and distributed to many other community organizations hit hard by the pandemic. As a result of all of this hard work, the masks have made their way to various groups in need such as food banks, LGBTQ+ communities, and indigenous reservations. To continue the vital work initiated by the women living in Moria refugee camp, we need your help.
Our starting goal is to fund 25,000 masks to people in need around the world. By raising $65,000 through the month of September, we can make and distribute 12,500 masks a month to keep communities near and far safe until the end of November.
To support the campaign, make a donation here! Every $2.50 pays for a mask that helps us fight this pandemic together. Everyone should be able to protect themselves, and this is an opportunity to support a sustainable and ethical project that is building solidarity across borders.
“In solidarity, from one group seeking freedom to another.”
