Friends, we urgently need your help! Many Ukrainians were already en route to Mexico with the hope of seeking refuge in the US when the Uniting for Ukraine program was announced and the border crossing in Tijuana was closed. We have several hundred Ukrainian refugees including infants and young children stuck in Mexico City without basic necessities and funds to provide for themselves. They are anxiously awaiting to learn if they must return to Europe to go through this new program or if Mexico will process them instead.
Our trusted volunteers who worked day and night in the Tijuana and San Ysidro hubs have relocated to Mexico City to provide these refugees with food, shelter, medicine, clothes, and resources while they wait. These volunteers continue to pay out-of-pocket for food and supplies they provide to refugees or through friends’ direct donations. We now hope to fundraise for these volunteers and establish a refugee hub in Mexico City to provide ongoing support for these families.
Not everyone can travel to Mexico, but by making a small donation you too can contribute to this significant humanitarian cause. All donations to this grassroots effort goes directly to Ukrainian refugees. Volunteers will continue to keep the public updated on their purchases and efforts at their new hub. Anything and everything counts. Please share this widely to help Ukrainians in Mexico!
