Goal
We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with the Bata Ng Calabnugan girls orphanage here in the Philippines to empower the next generation of female-led ‘Reef Rangers’. Our ‘Reef Rangers’ program will support six girls from the orphanage through diving certifications and marine conservation training. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and direct exposure to marine ecosystems, these young women will develop a deeper connection to their coastal environment while gaining the skills and certifications needed to pursue future careers in ocean protection.
To make this vision a reality, we need a little help along the way. We are aiming to raise $5,000 USD to provide these six girls with PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver materials and PICs. All training personnel will be financially covered by the Institute for Marine Research.
Expense breakdown:
1 girl (Open Water SCUBA Certified): ~$200 USD
1 girl (Open Water, Advanced Open Water, EFR + Rescue Diver Certified): $700 USD
A little bit goes a long way—every contribution helps us shape the future of ocean conservation!
