Redington Mountain Wilderness Sanctuary
You can help rewild 3,300 acres of essential, core wildlife habitat in the Western Maine Mountains, with a gift to the Redington Mountain Wilderness Sanctuary!
Northeast Wilderness Trust must raise a total of $915,000 to buy and protect this land. We are more than halfway towards this goal of making new wilderness a reality. Your donation will go directly towards protecting this land.
The proposed Redington Mountain Wilderness Sanctuary lies within the Western Maine Mountains, at the heart of the largest, most intact temperate forest in North America. The High Peaks region of this mountain range represents a crossroads, connecting the forests of northern Vermont and New Hampshire to those of northeastern Maine and New Brunswick. Protecting and rewilding habitat here is imperative for wildlife's survival, movement, and adaptation as climate change accelerates. With the help of supporters like you, this Sanctuary will safeguard a wild core to this forest at the highest degree of protection possible.
