WHY I AM FUNDRAISING

By: Bash (paraphrased by my mom)

Hi! My name is Bash, and my mom grew up in Greene County, Tennessee. She lost both of her parents in her childhood, and her community rallied around her and helped raise her. They told her she could be anything she wants to be.

She started dancing at the age of 2 and has always loved dancing. So, in 2009, she opened Stage Door Dance Productions in Raleigh, NC.

I love Stage Door Dance Productions, and that community now tells me that I can be anything I want to be.

My mom was really sad when Hurricane Helene hit her hometown. She was worried about the people that helped her and wanted them to be okay.

So, we decided to help them.

I am excited to raise "80-mile" money this year because I like Tennessee. I want to help a lot of the houses that fell down.

ABOUT THE REBUILD. RESTORE. BE MORE. INITIATIVE

The Benefit Show is the annual capstone component of the Elevated Pathways Program at Stage Door Dance Productions.

Designed to focus on peer-to-peer philanthropy, since 2017, our dancers have raised $200,000+ for non-profit organizations. This is an incredible number and is a testament to our community’s commitment to creating impact.

Past organizations we’ve supported include:

  • Global H2O (Make a Splash)

  • Me Fine Foundation (A Concert for the Kids)

  • Frankie Lemmon School (Luck Be For Lemmon)

  • Comfort Zone Camp (Let’s Dance S’More)

  • Gigi’s Playhouse/ Pretty In Pink Foundation (Movement & Meaning)

  • Girls Geared For Greatness (Movement & Meaning)

  • AJ & the Cool Kids/ Healing Transitions/ Myra’s Angels (Be More Battle)

In addition to using their art for the greater good, the process also encourages goal setting, a healthy competitive spirit, project management exercises, and an educational deepening of humanistic concerns.

This year, with the Rebuild. Restore. Be More. Initiative, we will be hosting a variety of initiatives and service learning endeavors as well as the opportunity to perform at TWO Benefit Shows- one in Raleigh, NC and one in Greeneville, TN on July 12th.

Funds raised will be donated to AidNet of Greene County (EIN:45-4109805) in East Tennessee as they focus on recovery and relief from the impact of Hurricane Helene. This area is Miss Chasta’s hometown, and it did not receive the large-scale attention of Western North Carolina. Yet, as the water rushed down the mountain from Asheville, NC, there was catastrophic flooding. Some lost everything. The heart of the community has rallied to make sure this community thrives long-term, and we are excited to be a part of the effort.
