READ Scholarships

In July 2024 I plan to visit my parents’ homeland of Sri-Lanka, with my 8-year-old daughter, Scarlet, who has not yet traveled there. For her inaugural trip, it is essential that I teach her the importance of giving back to the community that shaped my young life as a Sri Lankan-American. 

Today I work as a leader in public school reform in the United States, serving as a senior advisor to large school districts & state leaders in the United States. I focus on supporting school systems with high-poverty populations and/or who are affected by inequitable, racially divided systems of education. 
 

Due to such connections to my work, I have partnered with a charitable organization that focuses on increasing educational access to children in grades K-5 who live in remote villages near Galle, Sri-Lanka. The Little Leaders Foundation (LLF) directly provides educational funds to such village children. LLF mitigates the costs & day-to-day challenges that can limit access to schooling for 25 village children attending the Panagamuwa Amarasinghe Primary School.
