Goal
A raptor needs a vet? Well, they do! And unfortunately, with all too much frequency. Whether a victim of electrocution, poisoning, a strike by a vehicle or wind turbine, our birds of prey need emergency and long-term care to survive and reintroduce to the wild.
Kenya Bird of Prey Trust offers pioneering veterinary care in support of raptor conservation. Our most recent addition to the team is Juliet Waiyaki, a graduate of the University of Nairobi and just returned from an internship at the Dubai Falcon Hospital. But we need your support to help Juliet do her job and increase the impact of our conservation work.
This year we provided emergency vet services to some 20 raptors. Next year, we expect to double the number. In addition, we provide rehab services to some 50 birds that receive long-term care. Juliet will provide support to three raptor landscapes, serving our programs in the Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Soysambu. Activities includes emergency response and care, long-term care, training, and networking to improve raptor care nation-wide.
Please help us meet this year’s goal of support to Juliet, women in conservation, and the magnificent raptor legacy of Kenya.
