Psychedelic Research for the LGBTQIA2S+ Community

Help Fund Ongoing Psychedelic Research to Support the LGBTQIA2S+ Community

Queer communities face unique challenges when it comes to mental health: from generational trauma and systemic discrimination to underrepresentation in medical and psychological research. Psychedelics hold immense promise for healing, but much of the existing research fails to include LGBTQIA2S+ perspectives.

We're changing that.

Our Latest Ayahuasca Research, in Partnership with Jungle Gayborhood

In 2024, we conducted a first-of-its-kind study.

Our team explored the therapeutic potential and risks of ayahuasca, specifically within LGBTQIA2S+ communities. The initial findings are being published in a suite of academic papers (the first will be available in summer 2025) and through a beautiful documentary (releasing in fall 2025) that showcases the experience. Participants were able to:

  • Explore personal and collective trauma in a supportive setting.
  • Reconnect with their identities through spiritual and emotional healing.
  • Build safe, inclusive psychedelic spaces designed for queer individuals.

“Ayahuasca will not modify your true self. It will just amplify it. You will be as queer as you are right now but in a healthy way.”

“There’s collective trauma in being queer. Sitting in ceremony allows you to step outside of the stories, whether they’re yours or someone else’s, and provides an opportunity for deep healing.”

"I was very grateful for the realization that, while I do have an amazing amount of energy and love to give the world... I do need to be the first one in line and be able to keep that garden going so the fruit shows up.”

But There's More Work to Be Done

Your donation directly funds:

  • Research participation and data collection from LGBTQIA2S+ individuals in supportive, affirming environments like Jungle Gayborhood.
  • Scientific analysis that helps shape inclusive psychedelic medicine.
  • Groundbreaking, queer-centric research on the therapeutic potential of psychedelics: our past LGBTQIA2S+ research has been featured internationally, from MAPS Psychedelic Science to the Oxford Psychedelic Society
  • Direct community support via our Psychedelic Info Line, which offers 100% free, zero-stigma access to evidence-based psychedelic education for all people.
  • Ongoing advocacy and public education, through blogs, resources, and outreach centered on queer psychedelic experiences.

Why Unlimited Sciences?

We’re not just researchers, we’re a community. Many of our staff identify as LGBTQIA2S+ and are personally invested in making sure psychedelic science reflects the realities of queer lives.

  • Our research has helped support the queer community in processing trauma, reconnecting with their identities and reclaiming their place in healing spaces that too often exclude them.
  • We affirm that queer identities are not pathologies to be treated. They are powerful, valid and deserving of healing spaces rooted in dignity and inclusion.

Be Part of the Movement

This is more than ongoing research, it’s reclamation.

By supporting this campaign, you're funding our roadmap for queer psychedelic research. It's a future where queer voices are at the center of psychedelic science, where healing is inclusive, affirming and driven by the people it’s meant to serve.

🏳️‍🌈 Let’s make psychedelic research truly reflect the diversity of our human experience. Donate to the cause today.
