Goal
Grace Klein Community is honored to send out Cross and Mia Power to serve alongside our Global Partners in South Asia and South Africa during Summer 2025.
Read their hearts and their desire to give the first fruits of their marriage as a fragrant offering to Jesus.
What is a firstfruit? The first of anything offered to God before the rest can be used. How fitting to give the firstfruits of their marriage to Jesus. We hope many couples will follow their lead and be blessed by their YES to Jesus as a beautiful act of worship and trust to honor God with the gifts He has given them in one another.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” – Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV)
“Honor God with everything you own; give Him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over,” – Proverbs 3:9-10 (The Message)
We will be praying the entire chapter of Proverbs 3 over this dear newlywed couple. Join us!
From the hearts of Cross and Mia:
Hi friends, family, and Grace Klein community folks,
We are both finishing our undergraduate degrees at Samford University and will be getting married May 11, 2025. Mia is studying to become a Speech Language Pathologist, and Cross is studying Accounting and Intercultural Engagement.
In South Africa last summer, Cross had the opportunity to spend a month and a half with the Ngosa Family. As he served as a Business Development Intern alongside Beats and Books, one of Grace Klein Community’s global partners, he was able to learn how to live a missional life sold out for Jesus.
Last summer, Mia went to South Asia and saw the gospel going forth through families into villages and refugee communities. She saw the need for the name of Jesus to be lifted high and witnessed the gospel being shared in homes through love and hospitality. She got immersed in the Afghan community through a local church, refugee school, and by living in the neighborhood.
Since moving to Birmingham, we have learned so much from the Grace Klein community on how to daily follow Jesus, and we have met so many inspiring families and missionaries who are living for Jesus daily. Together, we are called to make Jesus’ name great among the nations by living on mission through our careers, going, hospitality, and obedience.
We have had previous experience with missions apart but “together” is the key word for us. We are currently reading Francis and Lisa Chan’s book, “You and Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity.” Francis wrote, “You can be more effective together than apart. In a truly healthy relationship, we enable each other to accomplish more than we could have done alone. This was His plan.” We agree. We desire that the gospel go forth to every tribe, tongue, and nation on earth. Will you partner with us in joining God’s work that has already begun?
This trip is not “out of the blue” for us, it is a continuation of the fostering relationships God has given us in Birmingham, South Asia, and South Africa. We believe God is casting a vision for our marriage and business as a way of life, through missions, in the future. We are committed to going, praying, and obeying the Spirit.

1 Peter 4:8-11 has been highlighted for our marriage and for summer 2025 which says: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
