Pohutukawa Donor Tree - Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre
The “Pohutukawa Donor Tree” inside the Jim Carney Cancer and Blood Services Treatment Centre in Whangarei leads on from the previously successful 'Buy a Brick' fundraising campaign for the building, refurbishment and support of the Centre. Now that the Centre is built, and the brick wall is complete, leaves for the Pohutukawa Tree are available for purchase at $1,000 each. Donated funds go towards supporting the ongoing work and extra 'nice to haves' at the Centre.
The Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre was built so that many Northlanders could have treatment in Whangarei, in a state of the art facility, saving the long trip to Auckland and back. Northland Community Foundation on behalf of Northland District Health Board (DHB) was the force behind the original fundraising programme to build the Cancer Centre. Although the centre is now built, the hard work of caring for Northlanders who are dealing with cancer continues. The team and patients at the Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre greatly appreciate any donations, which are used to provide essential extras for a high quality care that the Government cannot provide to improve the experience of visiting the centre, both now and in the future.
Personalised leaves for the Pohutukawa Tree are $1,000 each. You can pay a one off donation of $1,000, or make regularly weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments that add up to $1,000 over the year. We can also provide a receipt to claim a 33.3% tax rebate for your donation. If you setup weekly payroll giving your tax rebate is given immediately, so only $12.82 will be taken from your pay each week. If you’d like to donate towards something specific like equipment, or donate more or less, we can also work with you too. Just get in touch, your contributions will always be needed and appreciated.
You will see that every Pohutukawa Tree ‘Leaf’ can have a message on it. In addition, you can choose your own message (up to 50 characters) to make “your” leaf unique and personalised.
The team greatly appreciates the gift of a ‘Leaf’ at the Cancer Treatment Centre as it is a visual reminder of the people who have supported their work, as well as a reminder of the funds that have been raised.
