PM CARES Fund for COVID-19
Below is a circular that was released by IIT-Kharagpur on March 28, 2020:
Subject--An appeal to IIT Kharagpur Community to Contribute to "Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund" ("PM CARES Fund" for COVID-19)
"The undersigned is to inform that our country and the world as a whole are passing through unprecedented times due to COVID-19 pandemic. The number of persons infected with Coronavirus are increasing day by day. We, the educational fraternity, have a great responsibility of not only making the people aware of preventive and precautionary measures to safeguard themselves and check the further spread of this virus but also come forward to contribute financially to strengthen the efforts of the Government to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we appeal to all faculty/staff members of the Institute to contribute to “Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund)” to support the affected people of the country by the COVID-19. The contributions of us will go a long way in serving humanity in present moments of crisis. Such donations/contributions shall be eligible for rebate u/s 80G of Income Tax Act."
