Goal

Are you passionate about food and supporting a thriving local food system for Syracuse, Onondaga County, & Onondaga Nation?

By supporting this year's annual "Plant A Seed for SOFSA" campaign, you'll be investing in sustaining our operations and community power-building work including:

- Offering trainings, site visits, and skillshares like our recent Civic Engagement 101 Workshop
- Advancing stakeholder-driven policy priorities including Universal School Meals
- Sharing resources and technical assistance across our diverse network to ensure all partners are best positioned to contribute to transforming our food system together

But that's not all! This year, 75% of donations received through this campaign will be directed to our new participatory grantmaking initiative - the Syracuse-Onondaga Food Justice Fund. This fund aims to provide nimble, responsive support to community projects that advance a just and thriving local food system. So not only will you be supporting SOFSA's ongoing work, but you'll also be helping to fund innovative new projects that are making a difference.

And there's more good news - thanks to the Onondaga Agriculture Council, each dollar donated to the "Plant A Seed for SOFSA" annual campaign in 2023 will be matched up to a total of $15,000. This means that your investment in our collective efforts will have twice the impact!

We're also excited to offer some great benefits to our donors. All donors, whether individual or corporate, institutional, and philanthropic, will have the option of acknowledgement at the Food Justice Symposium in Syracuse on October 28th, 2023. Individual donors contributing $50+ or making a recurring monthly donation of $10+ will receive a free SOFSA tote bag as a token of our appreciation. And corporate, institutional, and philanthropic donors will have access to sponsorship opportunities, beginning at the $500 gift level.

So what are you waiting for? Join us in building a more just and sustainable local food system in Onondaga County. Your investment will make a difference, and we can't wait to have you as part of our community! Check out our 2022 Annual Report to learn more about our work and impact.
