"Pipe hitters" like you helped Harrison Tayse fight for his future. Can he count on you again?
You helped save this young sailor's future — and now I hope you'll stand with him again so the Pipe Hitter Foundation can provide an emergency relief grant of $20,000.
Harrison, a 21-year-old sailor, wrongly faced prosecution from the Navy after defending himself during a violent attack while he was on-base. Despite acting in self-defense and suffering severe injuries –– that led to him being life-flighted with a knife in his skull! –– he was pressured into accepting a plea deal.
But with the immediate support of "pipe hitters” like you, Harrison received new legal representation, and within 24 hours, the charges were dropped.
Harrison’s attorney put it best: “The continued support of the Pipe Hitter Foundation changed the life of Harrison Tayse. The Navy prosecutors were committed to throwing Harrison in the Brig. Harrison found the courage to stand up to the Navy knowing that Pipehitters had his back.”
Thanks to you, Harrison’s case was dismissed, and this young man’s bright future was restored.
But now Harrison, in conjunction with the Navy, has decided to take a military medical separation due to the serious injuries he sustained.
Sadly, this isn’t surprising given the severity of the attack he faced: Harrison was attacked and stabbed eight times, bringing him close to death. After the assailant left Harrison bleeding on the floor, Harrison was medevaced to a trauma center. He had three surgeries to repair his lung, repair an artery, and to remove the assailant's knife from his skull.
Harrison fought for his life, and thank God, he survived.
While Harrison will receive some benefits, he is truly starting over after his service in the U.S. Navy –– service that he expected to continue if his injuries weren’t so severe with complications ongoing.
Please make your generous gift today to help Harrison Tayse begin anew with as strong support as "pipe hitters" like you can provide.
In honor of Giving Tuesday and this season of giving, thank you for your continued support in serving those who serve us. — Eddie Gallagher, Pipe Hitter Foundation
