Goal

Hello! I am writing to ask for your support for the Philly Birth Fund (PBF); an organization I am proud to serve as a board member. As a board member my goal is to raise $4000 by the end of Black Maternal Wealth Health Week, April 17th of 2023.

The Philly Birth Fund provides direct support to Black families in Philadelphia wanting to give birth at home by providing grants for care from midwives who specialize in home birth.

As a midwife, PBF's mission is incredibly important to my work when it comes to caring for pregnant people and their families in Philadelphia. PBF reduces barriers to the birth every pregnant person desires for their family. This is especially important when we look at the alarming ways in which Black women and Black families suffer due to racism that is pervasive in conventional healthcare. For this reason many Black families choose home births to mitigate the effects of racism in health care as they grow their families in Philadelphia. PBF works to decrease the financial barriers so these families can get the midwifery care they need.

PBF has already helped 29 home births during the most harrowing time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please consider donating to PBF as we renew our efforts to fund home births in Philadelphia.

The Philly Birth Fund is a Section 501(c) (3) charitable organization, EIN 88-1328831. All donations are deemed tax-deductible, absent any limitations on deductibility applicable to a particular taxpayer. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution.
