Honoring Peter Baer Schneidman’s Legacy: Creating Camp Experiences That Last a Lifetime
Peter Schneidman loved every aspect of camp—not only for the unforgettable experiences but also for the deep friendships he made. Most of all, Pete loved camp because it was where he met the love of his life, Marie-Claire. Camp was a place that shaped who Pete was and reflected what he valued most: connection, growth, love, and family.
To honor Pete’s love of camp, the Peter Baer Schneidman Camp Fund has been established at Boston Community Pediatrics (BCP). This fund will make it possible for BCP to send over 100 kids — primarily Latinx and Black youth from low-income backgrounds — to summer camp each year.
These experiences will provide opportunities to build friendships, explore new activities, and cultivate lifelong skills and confidence. Sharing the camp experience with future generations, who otherwise would not have this opportunity, will ensure that Pete’s legacy continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of children for years to come.
