Diamond Way Buddhism Perth
Dear Friends Along the Way:
Thank you so much for the support you have given us to make Karma Oser Ling a reality. Lama Ole Nydahl inspired the Perth, Western Australia Sangha to purchase the first live-in centre in Australia in 2017. Generous donations from around Australia and the world enabled us to make the purchase in the name of the Australian National Diamond Way Association. Additional fundraising and more backing by the National organisation allowed us to build the bulk of the gompa in 2018 and 2019.
Now, we're holding the Australian National Course in our new gompa and are thrilled to have Lama Ole and 200 friends with us between 4 and 10 March 2019.
However, if you're visiting with us this week, you'll notice we don't really have a floor. We installed the vibration and sound-proof base in February 2019, but we simply ran out of money to finish it off with a smooth wooden surface. The final floor will be hard-wearing and beautiful, suitable for inspired meditation and vigorous prostrations. We estimate the floor and final completion of the gompa trim will cost $17,000. If you'd like to donate some funds, no matter how small, we would be thrilled to have you involved in the construction effort.
You can donate a lump sum, or an ongoing subscription if you'd like to continue supporting Karma Oser Ling. The Perth Sangha is paying back a $400,000 mortgage taken out by the Australian National DW Association. When the mortgage is paid off, ongoing rent will be used to generate a lump sum for future property investment elsewhere in Australia. Please help us grow Down Under.
We thank you for your support!
