Kingy is very fondly recalled by his colleagues for his leadership, larrikinisms and his sense of humour. He was a fun person to work with who made a lot of friends during his time with Customs and its iterations, joining the ACO12 cohort in 1989 and sorely missed when he retired in January 2023. Here's a medley of tributes from colleagues in his honour, of times at the DDU, CEF, RCU, touch footy, Cricketers Club, and many who came across him in the course of their work. He also loved a game of golf accompanied by some cold ones - loved by all DDU Australia wide, best manager DDU, centre piece and the rock for may in DDU, definitely the GOAT at the DDU, most chilled dog handler, calm easy going and always positive; one of the best guys, the finest man, one of the world’s nicest guys, great fellow, fun loving and kind nature, great guy and officer, fabulous to work with, highly regarded, funny cheeky banter, one of the good guys, an amazing man, highly respected, pleasure to work with, true gentleman, wonderful person, always had a kind word to say, constant source of support and camaraderie, always there for anyone who needed him, gave so much in return, well loved, wonderful human, recall his wit, great wit, dry wit, often cheeky and very funny, great sense of humour, always good for a laugh, straight talker, dry humour, remembered fondly, great memories on and off duty, great mentor and role model, He was a valued member of the team. Vale Kingy! Sincere condolences to his family from the Staff Welfare Fund Qld on behalf of his colleagues at Department of Home Affairs and Australian Border Force
