PDX Alliance for Self-Care
At PDX Alliance for Self-Care (PDX ASC), our mission is to connect marginalized and vulnerable communities with self-care resources, practitioners, and events.
For communities of color, immigrants, refugees, activists, and other vulnerable and marginalized groups, simply existing is difficult and exhausting work. These groups often have lower incomes and must deal with both covert and overt acts of racism, sexism, xenophobia, transphobia and the like, day after day.
At PDX Alliance for Self-Care (PDX ASC), our mission is to connect marginalized and vulnerable communities with self-care resources, practitioners, and events. In addition, we will offer diversity training for practitioners wanting to volunteer their services. Because most self-care practitioners in our city are white, we will require cultural competency and diversity training to white practitioners, to increase safe access to traditionally white healing spaces for marginalized communities and to reinforce the truth that self-care is for all people.
Self-Care is Self-Love
