The Pay it Forward Campaign will extend from February to May...Valentine's Day to Mothers Day, as an effort to support mothers, birthing people, and families seeking doula services and support through our direct services and programs with the goal of raising at least $10,000. HMHB's Community Based Doula Program to date has had touchpoints with over 150 families since its inception with most of our clients being Black, Indigenous, Native Hawaiian, or a person of color. Our doulas have attended almost 100 births during COVID, many times being the only support person a birthing person had. We have given hundreds of hours of postpartum care, love, and support virtually and at-home visits. The impact the HMHB Community Based Doula Program has had is huge and we want to be able to support even more families in this way.

Our program services families across the socioeconomic spectrum and through our sliding scale model. Our sliding scale model is our way to make doula care equitable and accessible to any and everyone who wants and needs the support and care. On average doula services can cost $750-1500. Through HMHB's Community Based Doula program families can access services for as low as $100. Unfortunately, there are still families that just can't afford the out-of-pocket expense. This is why the Pay It Forward Campaign is so important. Our mission is two-fold. We want to make sure doulas are compensated equitably and fairly for their important work while also ensuring that anyone who comes to us wanting a doula can receive one,

Through the Pay It forward Campaign, we can make sure our collective community aid makes care within a pregnant and birthing persons reach. Every dollar raised will go directly to covering the cost of doula care and other services. Our goal is to not have to turn anyone away due to lack of funds. Support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period is something everyone should have. We at HMHB are on a mission to make that happen.
