Goal
Pani Nina, 1988, from Stare Selo (Sarnensky District)
Nina has been fighting chronic kidney disease since she was a little girl.
In 2021, she was switched to automatic peritoneal dialysis. But there's a big problem: her machine needs electricity, and the power in her area often goes out, especially during the long, harsh winter which is fast approaching.
Each blackout disrupts Nina’s treatment, causing health complications. Nina cannot afford a portable power generator, so each blackout is a gamble for Nina — and her survival is a stake.
About POWERUP!
Over 200 people in Ukraine need peritoneal dialysis every day.
Their home dialysis machines need an uninterrupted power supply for nine hours daily. If the electricity goes off, the consequences could be catastrophic. That's where our campaign, POWERUP, comes in.
We, Zeilen van Vrijheid Foundation, want to give these people portable power stations. With your help, we can make sure their treatment continues without danger. Together, we can help them live.
