Serhii, 1972, from Berestivka village (Varasky district)
Serhii began his fight against kidney failure in 2014. By 2022, he needed a machine for his treatment, but the war made everything harder.
The fighting made it tough to get to the hospital and to get essential medicines. What's worse, the power started going out more often, and there were days he couldn't use his machine.
Without money for a generator, he relies on the unsteady power supply in his region to stay alive.
But with the power so unreliable, his health is always at risk.

About POWERUP!
Over 200 people in Ukraine need peritoneal dialysis every day.
Their home dialysis machines need an uninterrupted power supply for nine hours daily. If the electricity goes off, the consequences could be catastrophic. That's where our campaign, POWERUP, comes in.
We, Zeilen van Vrijheid Foundation, want to give these people portable power stations. With your help, we can make sure their treatment continues without danger. Together, we can help them live.
