Goal
To support healthcare professions education in Palestine, Marina and Jenna will be cycling almost 400 kilometres in 3 days from Newcastle to Birmingham for the ASME (Association for the Scholarship of Medical Education) 2026 Conference.
In 2026, we are so lucky as clinicians and educators to be able to practice and educate freely, and this should extend to everyone - and no longer merely represent luck. We would appreciate any donation (or sharing of PalMed Academy's work) to help support this.

Thousands of Palestinian medical, nursing, and dental students are struggling to continue their education while war, displacement, and destruction place the future of healthcare in Gaza at risk.
PalMed Academy, the educational arm of the Palestinian Doctors’ Association in Europe, is working to ensure that students can continue learning, training, and preparing to become the next generation of healthcare professionals for Palestine.
Through online learning platforms, virtual clinical teaching, simulation training, mentorship programmes, workshops, and international educational initiatives, we are helping students continue their education despite extraordinary challenges.
PalMed Academy's impact from 2024-2026 included:
🩺 Medical Students
• 2,500+ medical students supported each academic year
• 1,430 newly admitted medical students in 2026
• 630 students graduated since June 2024
👩⚕️ Nursing Students
• 2,050+ nursing students benefiting from our projects
• 5,416 newly admitted students
• 1,300 students graduated since October 2024
🦷 Dental Students
• 1,590+ dental students supported
• 30 fully equipped dental chairs secured for clinical training
Your donation can help:
Deliver free medical education and training
Support clinical placements and practical teaching
Provide laptops, tablets, and educational resources
Support displaced students facing financial hardship
Strengthen the future healthcare workforce in Palestine
The genocide in Palestine can also not be untangled from the climate crisis, hence our mode of transport (and we want to show you can sustainably get to your conferences).
Issues such as genocide and climate crisis are often siloed, but they are not mutually exclusive, rather,n perpetuated by the same injustices and exploitative systems—such as colonialism, militarisation and extractive capitalism. Militaries worldwide account for almost 5.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions annually, more than the aviation and shipping industries combined, yet there is no obligation for states to report military emissions to the UN climate body. The carbon footprint of the first 15 months of Israel’s war on Gaza will be greater than the annual emissions of a hundred individual countries.
