When you give to the Ethical Adoption Fund, you help Pact model an honest, child-centered, anti-racist approach to adoption. 

At Pact:

• We don’t pressure or judge people facing unplanned pregnancies—we connect them with resources and help them consider all their options, including parenting their child.
• We don’t pretend that adoption is a purely joyful experience—we talk honestly about the loss and grief as well.
• We never claim that people of color don’t adopt, or steer expectant parents towards white clients—we recruit and prepare prospective adopters of color, so that adopted children of color can see their racial identities reflected in the families they join.
• We don’t charge fees that only the wealthy can afford (or offer a “discount” for children of color)—we offer our services on a steep sliding scale to make them accessible to a broad pool of pre-adoptive families.
• We don’t pretend that adoption ends with placement—we educate prospective adopters and first/birth parents on how open adoption benefits children.
• We don’t focus only on our own practice—we go out in the community and train other professionals to take an ethical, anti-racist approach to adoption.
