Hello Albert Einstein Community!
As the 2nd annual musical instrument repair drive nears its close, PACE needs to raise $1,785 so that Mr. Kelly can make all the needed repairs and replacements this summer. If 70 people each donate $25, we’d meet our goal.
Please consider making a donation today or sharing the link with family and friends: https://donorbox.org/pace-instrument-repair-drive
The funds will be used for:
$350 to repair: 3 cello bows rehairs and grip replacements, 5 bass bow retainers and 1 violin bow rehair
$935 to repair: 2 sousaphones, 1 trumpet, 1 trombone, 1 clarinet and 3 saxophones
$500 to repair: 1 electric guitar, 1 concert snare drum and 3 timpani drop covers
We are delighted that the Albert Einstein community has already raised $6,400 for the instrument repair drive. Last week, Mr. Kelly brought many band, orchestra and jazz instruments in for repair. In addition, the funds raised have allowed a significant upgrade of the entire drumline which is expected to last over 10 years.
We are fortunate that the school has a large supply of instruments, which enables students to borrow instruments and save on rental costs. AEHS families have donated many instruments over the years, but the county music department only allocates about $800 per year to AEHS to cover all repair and replacement needs.
If you are new to AEHS, welcome! Mr. Brendan Kelly is the director of the instrumental music department and PACE is the Performing Arts Coalition of Einstein. PACE supports the arts at Albert Einstein HS, which includes the VAPA academy, chorus, dance, instrumental music, Salseros, STAGE and visual arts.
Thank you for your support!
