Hello! As many of you know, I was born without thumbs on both hands and had an exploratory surgery as an infant to move my index fingers to be used as opposable thumbs. Growing up, I always struggled with understanding "Why was I different?" and why people didn't view me as a equal. Learning how to overcome this took far into my adulthood to fully grasp although I always had a hypothetical "chip on my shoulder". Fast forward a few years ago, I started running as a health measure and quickly got sucked into a ultra-marathon more as a challenge than anything else. Since then, I have been running them annually for the past few years and recently came across Project Outrun. With partnering with Project Outrun, I want to lead by example for the families and children fighting these diseases that you can overcome anything that is thrown your way and sometimes you just gotta keep on chugging! I look forward to giving each race and challenge everything that is humanly possible from myself!
