Our Vision, Our Mission
In the near future (within the next three years) Anthony Crane Investors Group, Inc. a for-profit corporation, will create scholarships or support existing scholarships that share our family values. K-12 are the most important years of a child’s life, these are the formative years that will determine the future possibilities that child will have for success.
There is a severe problem we have at home. In the United States, our home, we have a problem of education. According to BBC News as reported in 2015, the United States placed 28th in the world. According to worldtop20.org for 2018, the United States came in 16th on Primary and Secondary Academic levels, High School and College graduation rates, and Adult Literacy rates behind South Korea, Russia, Canada, and others. These figures are easy to find.
The conspiracy theories that explain the reasons why are abundant, regardless if they are true or not. Be it lack of financial support from the government or corrupt officials on the highest levels of the board of education; or simply years of bad parenting. There is without a doubt a substandard level of education in the United States in comparison to the rest of the world.
The question is “what are we going to do about it?”
I believe that academics and social skills are to be learned in school, but education begins at home. Acceptable social behavior and etiquette; respect for life and the lives of others; the safe environment to explore different cultures and religions, and foster continuous learning. And the importance of mainly the subjects of reading, math, science, geography, and history, all create the world of possibilities that rest before each child if they apply themselves enough. Dare to dream!
Children won’t know unless we show them the way, and the school system alone cannot be delegated that responsibility, that responsibility belongs to the family at home. So what about those families that understand this, that are actively involved in their child’s education, that care enough to check homework assignments and answer their child’s questions. Even after a 10 hour work shift, and can’t afford to live in an affluent subdivision zoned for the best public schools, nor have the financial means to enroll their child in a private school?
That, right there is not fair. Not to the families or to their children. So our vision, our mission, is what we’re going to do about it!
If you would like to support us on our mission to the road for a better education, please consider donating. No matter the amount of the donation, every dollar is a dollar closer to making a difference in a family’s life and quite possibly will open the doors to a brighter future for us all.
I’m Anthony Crane, thank you for your attention.
