ORATORY SCHOOLS FUNDRAISING TO SUPPORT CATHOLIC EDUCATION 2019-2020
Dear friend of the Oratory Schools,
May God’s grace be with you!
We believe that in our culture there has been no better way to prepare students for civic, private, or professional life than Catholic Classical Liberal Education. Shakespeare and the newly canonized St. John Henry Newman of the Oratory received a Classical Liberal Education. This type of education helps us to be good, happy and intelligent citizens. It gives us hope of a better life. It recognizes the need to forgive and the need to be forgiven.
We are proud of our Western educational heritage because Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born into this culture. It originated with the Jewish people, the chosen people of God, borrowed what was best from the Greek and Roman civilizations and was perfected in Christianity.
The philosophy of the Oratory Schools, based on our educational heritage, aims to prepare students, both perfecting their English and their Spanish, for a fulfilled life.
Now, more than ever, since the founding of the Oratory Schools in 1983, we find ourselves in need of funds to run the schools. How should we approach the resolution of our financial situation?
First, pray for the resolution of our financial situation. Jesus says “ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).
Second, if you have school age children register them for the next school year in February.
Third, invite a family member, a friend, a coworker to enroll his or her children in our schools. You are our best advocate.
Fourth, we have begun Oratory Schools Fundraising to Support Catholic Education to secure sufficient funds for the present school year and for subsequent school years ($700,000.00 are needed for the present school year). The chart below shows how funds raised during the 2019-2020 School Year will be distributed. If God has blessed you with good fortune, consider making at least a $500 donation or help us by asking people of good will to make a donation.
This year’s fundraising runs from November 1, 2019 to May 29, 2020. If you would like to be part of the fundraising committee or if you have questions, please call Sylvia Díaz at (956) 781-3056 Ext. 509.
We will continue helping our students to be excellent persons. Our society needs good and intelligent leaders.
We commend our plans to God and trust that you will support us with your prayers, time, talent and treasure.
You and your family are in our prayers!
