Goal
No on Measure L, a developer's plan to bust through our Urban Limit Line in Brentwood, CA for more houses we don't need! Brentwood needs fire & emergency services and jobs before we expand our City limits for any reason. Our emergency response time is at least 8 minutes and almost 14 minutes to Bethel Island before adding this development's 11.6% of service territory; death can occur at 8 minutes. Fire insurance rates are up 198.2% since 2014 due to our underfunded and understaffed fire protection. Traffic and congestion on Vasco Road & Highway 4 are unbearable with 88% of our workers commuting out of town each day for viable employment, and many say it's already miserable trying to drive in town for simple errands. Traffic studies say this development will make 7-10 intersections unacceptable. This development will send kids from 480 households to already over capacity schools (high schools are 1,313 students over and K-5 is 790 students over), and schools are already adding portables to keep up. Lastly, Measure L makes their development plan law, thereby bypassing Brentwood residents, the Planning Commission and our City Council - basically they get to control everything their way. We say enough is enough! Stop the endless urban sprawl and the negative environmental impacts and degradation of our quality of life. Help me defeat big money developers, contribute to our NO ON MEASURE L CAMPAIGN.
Thank you. Kathy.
