Give the gospel to Sudan

Even in war-torn Sudan, church planting and Bible translation is growing exponentially. 

Ten years of civil war have created a spiritual hunger in Sudan. People are open to something other than Islam for the first time in centuries.

Today in Sudan, we have a window of opportunity to train Sudanese evangelists in church-planting networks to translate Scripture as part of their evangelism and church-planting strategy. 

Project Progress

During the workshops, unfoldingWord trains, coaches, observes, and assists Sudanese partners to establish foundational expertise in technology, software usage, translation principles, and equipping trainers.

Because of generous partners, a team of Sudanese believers has completed five translation workshops. 

The Quality Checkers are impressed with the translation process.

Next, the teams will move directly into Scripture translations, beginning with Jonah, 3 John, and Titus.

Creating great capacity for Bible translation by equipping the Sudanese Arabic church network will enable the 131 people groups in Sudan to have translated the Bible into their heart language.
