Summer 2025

I've served on the board of the Octavia Project for seven years, and have loved seeing how its speculative fiction and STEM-centered workshops empower students in Brooklyn to dream big and envision new possibilities for our world. In this time of political attacks aimed at erasing and silencing queer youth, eradicating critical thinking and creativity, and discouraging and dismantling collective visions for better futures, I believe the OP's work and our unwavering commitment to serving young women and nonbinary and trans tweens and teens in Brooklyn matters more than ever. Our programs are funded in large part by our community, and your donation will have a direct impact on the experience of our participants this summer. We're also building our capacity to start offering school-year programming, so becoming a monthly donor is a great way to support the OP year-round. We're hoping to raise $40,000 by March 28th, and I have a personal fundraising goal of $2,000 this year. Any amount, large or small, that you can give is crucial in helping us get there!
