I joined the Octavia Project Advisory Board last year because after my mom, Jody, passed away in Fall 2022 I was looking for an opportunity to reengage with youth arts education, something both my parents were dedicated to throughout my life, on a more personal level. The Octavia Project affords girls, trans, and nonbinary youth the opportunity to shape their future, and maybe all our futures, by giving them the space and support to combine creativity and STEM education through the lens of science fiction. 🔬

This summer, community support from people like you will enable The Octavia Project to run its free summer programs for the tenth(!) year. I invite you all to join me this year, appropriately the Year of the Dragon, in donating in honor of my mom and her favorite dragon loving science fiction writer Anne McCaffrey. 🐉
