The Octavia Project turns ten this year, and I’ve been fortunate enough to serve on its advisory board and be part of its amazing work for the last six years. I've loved experiencing the joy and creativity that abounds every summer when participants showcase their work, and am proud that we've grown to offer two programs--one for middle-schoolers and one for teens--that both include incredible hands-on, skills-building workshops in subjects like art, technology, creative writing, urban planning, and game design. their tech skills, and explore their creativity. We need the support of our community to continue offering these free summer programs in Brooklyn, and I have a personal goal of raising $1,500 (the cost it takes to cover one student's full participation in our programs) for this effort. Help me reach my goal, and give girls and trans and nonbinary youth the opportunity to have an unforgettable summer of dreaming about bigger, better futures!
