Goal
**This will be a Ongoing Campaign** (We have raised over $5,000 on our old fundraising platform for this campaign.)
In 2021, a team from Project Rescue Children were in the city of Kisumu in West Kenya. While researching child trafficking and exploitation in a slum area, we stumbled across a lot of children talking coming from a deplorable tin shed.
Of course we had to look and what we found was quite shocking. The old tin shed which was barely standing, was a make shift church that was used by children in the slum as a school because there was no other option for these poverty stricken children to actually go to school.
After speaking to the children and teacher who volunteers her time, we could see they literally had nothing, but a few pencils amongst some 40-50 children. We immediately went out shopping and purchased $500 worth of educational material, as you can see in the images attached.
We are starting this *ongoing* fundraising campaign to provide educational material directly to this make shift school. Each month what is raised will be withdrawn and sent directly to our own volunteers on the ground, who will shop for educational material and give directly to the teacher. No middle man taking any cut of funds. Your donation goes directly to the school.
These children had no choice to be where they are, we do have a choice to help them give them the material to get them through education. Our target is $500 each month.
As of January 2022, we will be donating these funds also to have a hot meal cooked for each child for less then 50 cents per meal per child, from Monday to Friday. Most of the children don’t eat anything more than porridge due to poverty. With your donations to this campaign you’ll provide direct funds to educate and feed the children.
